Jerri Johnson-Kiser Finds Certification Opens Doors

After answering the call to handwriting certification, Jerri Johnson-Kiser, OTR/L, found that life was never quite the same again. For starters, she now gets more referrals and opportunities to do in-services and workshops. Certification as a handwriting specialist has enhanced her career personally and professionally.
 
Jerri is an independent occupational therapist with 10 years of pediatric experience who is well versed in the Handwriting Without Tears® Pre-K through Grade 5 curriculum. "I've introduced the program to my school district and it's really caught on. Teachers just love the program because it's so effective and easy to use," she said.
 
In addition to being an advocate for Handwriting Without Tears®, she's a big believer in the certification process. Certification has given her tremendous credibility in the eyes of parents and school systems.
 
It has also proven important to her practice and her success in reaching children who need her help. Certification has helped even with long-time clients. "Now, when I propose to administrators, I'm better able to implement projects and programs."
 
As a result, Jerri receives numerous referrals through parents, preschools, and developmental disability support groups seeking expertise backed by credentials. "People always tell me that they have more confidence in someone who is certified in an area that will help their child," she said.
