| Biography: | Hi. My name is Tracy, and I am an expert at helping children with their handwriting. Over the years, I have maintained a very close relationship with Handwriting Without Tears; during much of this time, I was the exclusive occupational therapist to whom Jan Olsen and her staff would refer students. This, along with my lengthy service as a pediatric occupational therapist for Montgomery County Public Schools, has allowed me to work with over a thousand children to bring them to a level of skill and comfort they never thought possible. My work with hundreds of educators, parents and educational consultants has assured carry-over to the academic and other settings. I have tutored all ages and grades, including young children displaying difficulties with pencil grasp/control and letter formation, high school students hoping to increase their scores on the new SATs and adults taking written exams. Every student is unique, with his/her individual personality, learning style and level of need. My warm and reassuring approach has allowed each of them to reach higher handwriting skills than they ever imagined. All my students have enjoyed increased handwriting legibility and ease, as well as newfound confidence and an improved attitude towards written work. Children who previously may have dreaded handwritten assignments now take pride in showing what they are capable of accomplishing. |
