teacher with students Handwriting is one of the fastest growing areas of referral to occupational therapy. Many students need help with handwriting. However, only a small number qualify for OT services. Other students struggle with handwriting because it isn’t taught effectively in the classroom. The demand for specialists is increasing.

As a result, more and more educators are sharing what they have learned from the Learning Without Tears® program. The only such program in the country—Level 1 Certification provides exceptional training at an affordable price. Contact hours are approved by most state licensure boards for educators as well as by AOTA.

That’s not all… our certified handwriting specialists have access to The Print Tool® online scoring tool to facilitate the evaluation process.

Level 1 Certification Objectives

By the end of the Certification, you will be able to accurately, score and interpret the Print Tool Assessment by completing two Print Tool Case Studies that are provided at the Handwriting Assessment Workshop.

By the end of the Certification, you will be able to write parent-friendly reports, set goals, determine remediation activities and document progress for evidence-based practice by successfully completing 2 handwritten reports from the two Print Tool Case Studies that are provided at the Handwriting Assessment Workshop.

By the end of the Certification, you will understand the complete Learning Without Tears curriculum from Pre-K through 5th grade and the Learning Without Tears Print Tool assessment by completing a self-paced 100 question open book multiple choice exam. 

By the end of the Certification, using resources on our website, you will successfully complete an in-service to a small group of individuals to increase their knowledge of the subject of handwriting. You will be asked to submit evaluation forms that attendees will complete at the end of your in-service ranking your ability to complete this in-service and increasing other’s knowledge of handwriting.
