| Biography: | For the past 15 years, Katie Garrett has cultivated her passion for helping children learn. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a BS in Cognitive Studies from Peabody College of Education and Human Development and a BA in Psychology from the School of Arts and Science. Katie's studies have provided her with a unique foundation for understanding the science of the mind and the process by which children learn to think, solve problems and reason. She has been working with the Handwriting Without Tears program for the past seven years and is Level 1 Certified in Pre-K through 5th Grade. As the owner of G-Whiz Kids, Katie has honed her skills in building rapport with children and identifying factors that motivate them to learn. G-Whiz Kids offers individual, small group and Summer camp academic enrichment in private and school settings. She provides support and instruction in the following areas: handwriting and fine motor development, written expression, elementary academics and study skills and time management.
