Biography:Melanie has been working with the pediatric special needs population since graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has experience working with children from birth through adolescence in a variety of settings including schools, daycares, homes, and outpatient clinic settings. Melanie is a certified handwriting specialist who has been using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for over 15 years. She started her own occupational therapy practice in 2020 and is available for home/school/daycare occupational therapy services. Melanie is also available to conduct in-services and trainings for schools, teachers, and parent groups on the development of handwriting, fine motor, and grasping skills in children.
