| Biography: | Jennifer Canaris, OTR/L is a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University, California. In addition, Jennifer has a Certificate of Specialized Training in Sensory Integration from the University of Southern California/ Western Psychological Services and, an Assistive Technology Certificate from the University of California, San Diego Extension Program. She has over 11 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist and runs her own pediatric occupational therapy business, Functional Solutions. Through her business, Jennifer serves private and public school systems, families, and early intervention regional center clients. She has been a guest lecturer/speaker at Grossmont Community College's Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program, National University's teacher's program, and University of San Diego, California teacher's program. Jennifer also frequently provides staff, colleague, and parent educational trainings and workshops in the areas of fine motor, sensory integration, and classroom modifications. In addition, Jennifer has been active in the Occupational Therapy Association of California, holding board positions at both the local Chapter and State levels within the last 10 years. Jennifer was also a National Workshop Presenter and Consultant for Handwriting Without Tears ™ over the last 4 years and has 10 years of experience using the Handwriting Without Tears™ program with pre-school, elementary, and middle school aged children of all ability levels. |
