| Biography: | Emily Scott, MOT, OTR/L, has had a combination of pediatric experience, working in the therapy and school settings for over fifteen years. After receiving her BS in Elementary Education from Miami University, Oxford, OH, Emily pursued her Masters of OT from Medical University of Ohio. She has worked in all types of settings, but has always included pediatrics as a part of her clinical work. In addition to clinical work, Emily served as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at MUO for 5 years and also taught at Colorado State University in the occupational therapy department. Emily recently received her initial training in Orton-Gillingham and continues to attend seminars and conferences to extend her learning. Emily has used the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum in practice since being introduced to it in 2002. During the summer of 2007, Emily developed and implemented a series of Handwriting Clinics using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum at the Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center in Lancaster, PA. After relocating to the Denver area, Emily has worked as a part of the Special Education Team in the St. Vrain Valley School District. She continues to use the HWT curriculum in the schools and to privately tutor children thru PEAK Exceptional Services.
