Biography:Lesley has worked in pediatrics since 2011 after completing her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and graduating top of her class to receive the Chancellor's award. She has her B.S. in Biology from the University of Florida. She is going on four years of experience working in outpatient pediatrics and has specialty training in the Therapeutic Listening Program and is a Handwriting Without Tears Level 1 Certified Handwriting Specialist. She also is trained in The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding. Lesley has a passion for working with children with developmental disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), William's Syndrome, Stroke (CVA), Sensory Integration Disorder, and much more. Lesley gained extensive knowledge in the areas of Sensory Integration (SI) and Processing and NeuroDevelopmental Treatment (NDT) through enriched coursework and on-site training. In addition to working in pediatrics, Lesley completed three months of training at The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington D.C., where she worked with clients daily during their inpatient rehabilitation stay. Lesley was part of two orthopedic teams and later joined the stroke team while on their service. Lesley has also worked per diem in the acute hospital setting with the adult and geriatric population working to increase their functional independence.
