Biography:Michelle earned her degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Mt. Hood Community College in 1992. She has worked as a COTA with infants and children up to five years of age, in the Northwest Regional Education Service District, in Washington County for 20 years, in classrooms, toddler/parent groups as well as providing home visits. She has been trained in using the Handwriting Without Tears Pre-K through 5th grade programs, and has used the Pre-K program with 3-5 year olds with special needs, with much success. Adding this program to her therapy services, and having the teachers incorporate the program has been a great joy and a valuable addition. She is trained in using The Print Tool to evaluate student's current printing skills. She then uses this information to design a customized remediation plan, for use at home, or in private instruction. In addition, she has provided trainings in the Pre-K program for numerous other staff in the agency. She enjoys teaching both the children and the parents and staff. She is also an instructor of infant massage, which she teaches to parents. Her warm, gentle style makes learning fun and successful! She has successfully tutored many children, ages 4 - 14 in both cursive and printing in the past 5 years. Michelle will save you the trouble and time involved in driving to appointments by coming to your home if you so desire. Most people really appreciate this option.
